Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates Research Department Obtains Two National Distinctions for Janssen Crohn’s Disease Research Study

At Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates, we are committed to advancing the field of gastroenterology through innovative research and clinical trials. Our dedicated Research Department has recently earned two prestigious national distinctions for its exceptional work on a Janssen Crohn’s disease research study.

The first distinction is the Janssen Research Study High Enrolling Site. This Distinction recognizes the Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates Research Department as the 25th highest enrolling site out of over ~280 sites participating in the Janssen-sponsored Crohn’s disease clinical trial. Our research team demonstrated unparalleled commitment to patient recruitment, retention, and data quality, making significant contributions to the success of the study.

The second distinction is the Janssen Research Study Enrollment. This award honors the Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates Research Department for achieving the 6th highest enrollment numbers for patients with diverse backgrounds among all study sites. Our team’s dedication and expertise in patient outreach and engagement allowed us to exceed enrollment targets and provide more patients with access to this cutting-edge Crohn’s disease treatment.

“We are incredibly proud of the exceptional work performed by our Research Department,” said Dr. Michael Jones, the Vice President and Research Director of Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates. “These national awards are a testament to their unwavering commitment to advancing the field of gastroenterology and improving the lives of patients with Crohn’s disease.”

Crohn’s disease is a chronic, inflammatory condition that affects the digestive tract, causing a range of debilitating symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss. The Janssen-sponsored clinical trial in which Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates participated aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel therapeutic approach for managing Crohn’s disease.

“Participation in this research study aligns with our mission to provide compassionate, high-quality, and cost-effective care to patients with gastrointestinal-related problems,” said Dr. Scott Leverage, the President of Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates. “By actively engaging in cutting-edge clinical trials, we are able to offer our patients access to the latest advancements in Crohn’s disease treatment, while also contributing to the broader scientific understanding of this complex condition.”

The Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates Research Department is led by a team of experienced researchers, nurses, and coordinators who work closely with the practice’s physicians to identify and enroll eligible patients in a variety of clinical trials. These trials cover a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver-related conditions, including inflammatory bowel diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic hepatitis, and more.

“Our research program is an integral part of our comprehensive approach to patient care,” explained Dr. Chadwick Hatfield, the ASC Director at Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates. “By actively participating in clinical trials, we are not only able to provide our patients with access to the latest treatments, but we are also contributing to the advancement of gastroenterology as a field.”

The Crohn’s disease research study is just one example of the impactful work being conducted by the Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates Research Department. The team’s dedication and expertise have earned them a reputation for excellence, both within the local community and on a national scale.
